My photography journey began in 1998 when I purchased my first professional Canon camera during the film era, developing my skills through patience, discipline, and a deep respect for the craft. As the industry evolved, I transitioned into digital photography, combining traditional fundamentals with modern technology. My work focuses on portraiture, events, and wildlife photography, where I strive to capture authenticity, emotion, and the natural beauty of each moment.

In 2024, when my son Gratten demonstrated a strong commitment to photography, I renamed the business to Arco Photography, reflecting that it had become a shared passion and partnership. The name pays tribute to our roots in Richmond County, NC, inspired by the local abbreviation “RCO,” which spoken aloud sounds like “Arco.” No matter where our work takes us, we remain proud Richmond County boys, grounded in our beginnings and the community that shaped us.

Gratten began his photography journey in 2024 and quickly distinguished himself with his natural eye and technical skill. In a short time, he developed a strong command of light, timing, and composition, producing images that feel both dynamic and authentic. He is especially drawn to event, sports, and nature photography, where he thrives on capturing energy, emotion, and the beauty of the moment. Whether freezing peak athletic action or framing the quiet detail of a landscape, Gratten approaches every shoot with focus and creativity. His rapid growth reflects both his dedication to the craft and his passion for telling powerful visual stories.
